Channel Letters

Channel letters are a type of exterior sign that are frequently seen above store entrances and windows. These custom-made designs are internally lit to increase visibility. While channel letters are often used to form words, each letter is individually manufactured and mounted.

Materials that go into the channel lettering sign include colorfast acrylic sheeting (made from high-quality vinyl), UV-stable plastics, aluminum, and a light source if you choose illumination. The light source is often LED, which is cheaper than neon.

The difference between channel lettering and other signage options is each letter can have an individual structure to create a unique form. Channel letters can also be lit from multiple points, such as front-lit, front/back-lit, and reverse-lit.

Channel letters come in different varieties. Some might be better for your business and brand identity than others.

Front-lit Channel Letters

The most common type of channel letter. Front-lit signs have acrylic faces, trim caps, and aluminum backing and returns.

Reverse Channel Letters

Also known as halo channel letters or back-lit channel letters. This kind creates an embossed look. Instead of acrylic, the face is made of metal.

Combination Lit Letters

Some channel letters have illuminated faces that are a different color from the halo lighting effect.

Open Face

A popular choice for bars and clubs, the letters are lit with neon lights that are exposed rather than hidden behind the letter’s face.

Illuminated Signs

A lighted sign, also called an illuminated sign, can be mixed with any other type of sign, as it is simply adding the light element to the sign. You can have illuminated interior and exterior business signs, lighted lobby signs, illuminated monument signs, front-lit or back-lit channel signs and so on.

Colored boxes and letters, scrolling LED signs, and other elements deliver outstanding communication and can help separate your business from the others along the road.

The following options are available:

· Illuminated pylon signs

· Lit monument signs

· Edge lit lettering

· Acrylic channel lettering

· Customized neon letters

· Choice of illumination – LED, fluorescent, neon

Monument Signs

Monument signs are often seen announcing industrial parks, school campuses, shopping malls, historic attractions, houses of worship, and other multi-tenant properties. Monument signs are more effective than other signage options that are smaller because they offer high visibility and customizable design elements.

Monument signs are often built form a mixture of materials, like brick, metal (such as raised metal letters), stone, concrete, and so on. In recent developments, some signs even use a faux stone that is lighter and comprised of urethane foam. This allows for sign manufacturers to do the work without needing to subcontract a mason to deal with the stone.

However, the design options are infinite. As long as you have some inspiration and a professional designer, like someone from our LSI Graphics teams, you can make the monument sign of your dreams a reality.

Size, shape, color, durability, and overall design are yours to select. Monument signs never need to be cookie-cutter. Here is a list of the customizable sections of monument signs:

· Colors

· Finishes on letters – brush silver, gold, bronze, brass, etc.

· Custom hole placement

· Corners – sharp angles or rounded

· Trim caps

· Reflective elements

· Illuminated signs

· Face Shape

Pylon Signs

Pylon signs are sometimes referred to as highway signs or road signs, because they are often placed alongside roads and tower above other landmarks. The height and size of pylon signs is key in acquiring the attention of the passerby. While most pylon signs are merely lit boxes on a metal pole, intricately designed pylon signs can become a discerning feature that gains attention and helps your business make an impact on all who see your signage.

As mentioned above, pylon signs are freestanding signs that may be one-side or double-sided, have support from either single or double poles, and are comprised of steel or aluminum. The face, where the sign is printed can be either rigid or flexible. Moreover, pylon signs can have illumination with fluorescent or LED light bulbs, but that feature is often up to the discretion of the owner.

Different types of pylon signs include:

Single-pole pylons

The classic pylon design makes a statement. Single-pole mounted pylon signs will standout among high rise buildings and congestion. These usually stand around 8-feet high and can stretch as wide as 100-feet.

Double Pylon Sign

Twin-pole pylons

Double poles increase the rigidity and resilience of the sign.

Pylon signs w/ Pole Covers

If you don’t want your elegant sign standing upon a metal pole, you can have structural supports created to surround the pole. There are hundreds of designs that can be implemented, so be sure to talk to the designers about what can be done.

LED Signs

Custom LED light sticks are quickly replacing fluorescent and becoming the new industry standard. They have a long lifespan, are economically friendly, and come at a fraction of the price, and easy installation and easy repair are a bonus. Update your exterior signage so that it can be seen at all times, and thus increasing brand awareness.

Our two options available are either reverse mounted custom LED or exposed custom LED lights, which is the classic style most are accustomed to seeing when trying to achieve a faux neon look.

These custom, UL listed signs are made from lightweight aluminum and will never rust or corrode extending the life and value of your product. Have a neon sign that you want to convert to a newer custom LED sign? We can help you with that!

Vinyl accents are available on the sign face for added detail and increased daytime visibility. The modular construction of these signs also allows even the most giant sign to be shipped directly to your business via freight.
