Walt Disney Archives Helps Make Dreams Come True
The archivists at Walt Disney Archives and its team have meticulously collected over 2,000 pieces of memorabilia to be displayed in the now static exhibition location in the Graceland Exhibition Center. As a partner of Graceland and Elvis Presley Enterprises, LSI Graphics was challenged to help produce descriptive board prints, collection tags, and several custom art pieces to help put the finishing touches on the collection all in a matter of only two weeks before the exhibit was to go live. In short, we were going to do as Disney does and make dreams come true!
We helped set the tone of the Archive with some classic photography in board print and SEG formats.
The custom pieces we were honored to produce were this timeline showing Disney’s history as well as a faux bookshelf containing Disney’s compendium of literature and inspirational text Walt Disney himself had in his personal collection.
The gallery tags were used to credit artists and identify animation projects. For example, here we helped attribute artists for the animated film Fantasia.
Disney has collected over 100,000 dimensional pieces of memorabilia they keep in their warehousing center. Here are a few examples we assisted with explaining their significance.
Walt Disney Legends were honored in this make-shift hall of fame. Dimensional board prints allowed for a semi-realistic showcase of many artists who have received Disney Legends status.
In closing, we hope that this new installation helps inspire a renewed sense of curiosity that Walt Disney himself encouraged others to embrace.
