Anheuser Busch Transforms Downtown Atlanta for Super Bowl LIII
It’s no big secret that the Super Bowl is one of biggest ad spends for brands annually than any other sporting event. Just this year alone we saw the third largest spending of all time (trailing only to 2018 and 2019 according to Kantar Media).
Kantar Media also broke down these numbers further by saying:
The 2019 Super Bowl saw an estimated $382 million of spend
There was a total of 49 minutes, 45 seconds of advertising during the Super Bowl, with ads accounting for 23% of the total broadcast
The top advertiser was beverage manufacturer Anheuser Busch In Bev, with Amazon coming second. Google was third, alongside Deutsche Telekom, and Toyota Motor
The leading category was car manufacturers – making up an estimated $66 million of spend
Keep in mind, these numbers only reflect the cost of television ads, not print. To further improve their brand recognition and involvement with Super Bowl LIII, Anheuser Busch wisely leveraged their Official Beer Sponsorship by transforming lots of local businesses near Mercedes Benz Stadium into Bud Light advertisements.
The Anheuser Busch team shared many of their graphic assets with our design team but still wanted our take on final creative in trying to build this one-of-a-kind experience.
Here are some of the results we delivered for local restaurants, bars, spirits shops, and convenience stores wanting to get in on the Super Bowl frenzy.
Circle K
Twin Smokers Restaurant
Hooters
Restaurant 10
Big Kahuna
Fado Irish Pub & Restaurant
Various other locations were also branded all over the city.
Even the City of Atlanta had window graphics put in one of their high-traffic areas nearby.
Finally, in a separate but similar project, we wrapped the FedEx truck that delivered the Lombardi Trophy to the Super Bowl!
